Lucifer Phosphorus Rite

This working below was given approval for its share by its author, Jeremy Ezrael Campbell.  This rite and many others on Lucifer can be found in the book "Rites of Lucifer" by Asenath Mason and Temple of Ascending Flame.

First approaching workings with Lucifer, I was wired with these thoughts of a horned red demon. A large behemoth that tricked all those he/she met into selling their souls. This horrifying image given in my childhood upbringing along with movies and stories fueled fear.  The greatest image I had and still to this day is the image of Lucifer as “Darkness” in the movie called, Legend. Tim Curry played the large red skinned devil and to this day I find the best  Hollywood image. Even the line he states, “what is light without darkness”. It is this light that
eludes me from this horrific image.

Further research I have found Lucifer in his Greco roman fashion as the torch bearer. The light of the world, as it is he/she that brought it to us. But what does that mean? The story of Prometheus stealing fire of the gods and giving it to humanity. For it is in this direction I find  lucifer as a golden haired being with bright blue eyes like the morning star. His wings that adorn  his back reveal his angelic presence that in his tales was his birth right. In his left hand is the great torch, light of the world, and the ascending flame. In his right hand, a flaming sword that cuts away the chains that bind. In this right, he becomes Thanatos, lord of death, and breaker of all
that holds us back.

In the work by the Temple of Ascending Flame, Rites of Lucifer , you see the different images that he/she has taken. Yet his torch, his fire. It is in my workings with him that I  began to learn of carrying the fire. Like the torch bearing God he is, he wishes us to understand what that torch is. To inspire others to carry it the same.

This theme is also known in the workings of Hecate  Phosphoros, the torch bearing Goddess. Although there are many practices for her workings,  there are little rituals or practices known for obtaining and carrying the torch of Lucifer. In my studies over the past year working with aspects of Lucifer, I was guided to obtaining this knowledge. In the best of my abilities, I wish to impart to you the reader, the opportunity, and  the privilege of awakening the fire of the bearer of lights gnosis within your own.

Background

What is Lucifers fire? I have grown to understand that his fire is also his gnosis. As an
adversarial being, light separates darkness. Thus, his light separates which frees and liberates.
Having given light to humanity, we see it in the sun. The light of awakened knowing and being.
As stated in the works by Asenath Mason, he is the keeper of the ascending flame. His fire is that
of knowledge and the knowledge to ascend in the mind, body, and spirit. His fire illuminates our
spirits desires to seek its highest truth. For this reason, his fire will drive with purpose those that
carry it to do so. To share its light and warmth with others. Seeking to inspire the greatness in
others.
In the practices of the Temple of Ascending Flame, Lucifer Archetype, we see Lucifer as
Shiva and Lilith as Shakti. The two represent the divine beings in the framework of Tantra. One
of the central concepts of classical Tantric philosophy is that of prakasha and vimarsha, the Light
of Consciousness and the Power of Self-Awareness, respectively. Prakasha is associated with
Shiva, which here is simply a name for the universal Consciousness that is the ground of all
reality. Vimarsha, as a power (shakti), is associated with the Goddess (also shakti). Prakasha may
also be translated “manifestation.” (Tomkins, 2018) In this, Lucifers light is the force of
manifestation with both the masculine and feminine polarities conjoined as one. The conscious
knowledge along with action.
His torch that burns bright attracts those that are lost in the cosmic darkness of their
illusions. This light can be triggering to those who cling to their illusions for comfort. For healing
this light is important as it gives space to see the obstacle surrounding the individual and the
knowledge to overcome. In the Native American Sioux belief system, there is the Heyoka or
sacred clown. It is called the “back word” way as the actions of the Heyoka goes against societies
norms and often triggers those locked into a way of doing things. They provoke laughter in
distressing situations of despair and provoke fear and chaos when people feel complacent and
overly secure, to keep them from taking themselves too seriously or believing they are more
powerful than they are (Nelson, 1998).
Lucifer hears the cries of those who seek wealth not obtained, and in his grace offers his
fire, the knowledge to obtain it. To the practitioner this is a boon, but the work must be done by
the practitioner. Those that just seek the outcome will receive it but not understand the brilliance
as they lack the light to do so. Then what was given is quickly lost and destruction often follows as
there is no light to shine where they are. The alternative is to offer an exchange or sacrifice of
service or deed to obtain. This is the classical workings with any deity. My understanding of the
goal of the Draconian Magician is a form of self-deification which means you should be able to
do it yourself. Yet that does not mean you become God, yet you understand the divine nature
that you are and gain the abilities to act upon that nature to create a better world for yourself and

those around you. To carry Lucifers fire is to walk with him on your path in life, in pursuit of
ascension with intention

Practice

But how do you carry a fire or even conceive of obtaining it? First with intention and visualization a temple within yourself must be constructed to house the fire. This temple is also a link between worlds, a safe place to go on the astral. This is helpful to understand where you are spiritually when you feel physically lost. Then forming a connection to Lucifer through a series of rituals. The last being an invocation to the Light Bearer and receiving his fire and gnosis. The entire process is a five-day working.  It is recommended to have someone read to you the guided meditation or self record it prior to working.

Day One: The Inner Temple

The Chair, Mirror, and Table initiation is way to visualize, organize your energy, and construct an inner temple to house the sacred fired. Through a guided meditation and initiation, the practitioner awakens the inner temple and seat of power. It is from this room that the individual can consciously explore the rest of his or her spiritual body. The Chair symbolizes your seat of power, your throne. The Mirror’s shape, style, and quality are the inner un-conscious reflections of self-image. The Table is the foundation of present and future work. The layout of the table and quality signifies the spiritual personal foundation. If the table is solid, then a firm foundation is set in place. If the table is crumbling, then the individual has an unbalance in his or her life or elemental unbalance. The three objects are key elements inside the room, which symbolizes the inner temple. The windows, wall coverings and lighting all reflect the individual’s connection to the inner spiritual consciousness. The room will be an inner sanctuary as well as a place to connect to the Deities.

Guided Meditation and Initiation

Sit or lay down (recommended have someone read to you or pre-record). Have a journal to jot down your findings. Meditation: Close your eyes. You see a door in front of you a black door with a silver handle. When you are ready open the door and step in. You are in a room lit up from windows and wall lighting. What does the room look like? What do the windows look like? What do the light fixtures on the wall look like? (Pause) Located on the wall to your left is a 7-foot-tall mirror. What does the mirror look like? (Pause) Turn to face the rest of the room. Towards the middle of the room, there is a large chair and a large table. What is the material of the chair and table? What do they look like? (Pause) Is the table solid or crumbling? If crumbling, see all the pieces slowly remolding before your eye. The table first turns silver, then gold and returns to the original form and color. (pause) Glance once more around this room. This is your inner temple or inner sanctuary connected to your spiritual nature. Turn towards the center of the room. A fire erupts in the center of your temple. This is your sacred fire, your spark of creation. The fire shimmers with a silvery glow guarding its light. It will not go out yet by maintaining it by offering wood you solidify your connection to the fire energetically. It is this relationship that will aid in the practice. Turn to your right, you see the door you entered through Open the door, a bright light shines through, and step through the door. You see yourself sitting, when ready sit back into your body and when ready, open your eyes. You have just established and awakened your inner temple.

Day Two: Inner Temple Preparation

Like in day one you will do the guided meditation and go back into your temple. This time you will consciously make the inner temple how you choose it to be. See the chair how in your heart you see it to be. Same with the mirror and table. When I first created my inner temple, it was silver, gold, and shiny white marble. This was what my consciousness thought a divine temple should look like. Working with Belial on a project in the Temple of Ascending Flame, he would constantly turn the temple to ash. After a few times rebuilding I understood, I was creating it in the image of what my external ideas were. Not my heart or spirits truth. The table then became amethyst and the chair a kingly black Gothic chair with red fabric. The mirror round and tall with black frame. In life that is what I choose for my furniture and bedding, so it makes sense it is my truth.

Day Three: Creating the Temple for Lucifers Fire

Day three is a practice to solidify the temple and build upon it creating a room dedicated to Lucifer. Be creative in this working as you organize the energies within yourself. Sit or lay down (recommended have someone read to you or pre-record). Have a journal to jot down your findings.

Meditation

Close your eyes. You see a door in front of you a black door with a silver handle. When you are ready open the door and step in. Take a moment to look around the room and see that all is in order. (Pause) In front of you see the fire, the chair, the desk and to the left the mirror. In the floor by the mirror, you see a stairwell leading down. Walk towards the stairs. You notice torchlight is lighting the stairwell from below. (Pause) Walk down the steps until your reach the below floor. (Pause) Before you is a room with no windows, yet torchlight is among the walls. What do the torches look like? (Pause) Now make the torches look like how they should be fore Lucifers room. (Pause) This room is where you will house Lucifers Fire. Take a moment to change the walls to how you would like them to be. Are the walls gold, red, black or is their symbols? (Pause) In the center of the room you see a large fire pit rising from the ground. What does it look like (Pause) Now that you have created a room for Lucifers fire, walk back up the stairs to your main floor. (Pause) See the fire in the middle of the room, next to it is a pile of wood. Take a few logs and add it to the fire. (Pause) As it burns brighter you sense a rise in your own energy. Know this is a practice on caring for the fire and Lucifers fire once given. You have solidified your temple when you are ready open your eyes.

Day Four: Connecting to the Current of Lucifer

The sigil used for contacting Lucifer is from the October 2023 open project, “Lucifer the Triple God”, by Asenath Mason and the Temple of Ascending Flame. This sigil personifies the masculine, feminine, and the Androgyne. It is recommended prior to this working to work the project which is on the website ascendingflame.com. You can draw or paint this sigil on paper or canvas. Sigil will be black on gold background. Or Gold on black background.

Ritual Prep:

Set the sigil on your altar or space designated for the working, preferably facing east. As Lucifer rises in the east so shall we do our workings with him in the east. Have three white tealight or pillar candles to represent all three aspects. Set them in a triangle fashion in front of the sigil. You will need a lancet device as blood is the key to activating the sigil. You only need a few drops. If you wish not to use your blood you may still attempt the working. You will also need a black mirror to scry into.

Evocation Ritual and Scrying

Light the candles

Evocation:

I light the flame and call your name Lucifer

Bringer of light

  Androgenous torch bearing divine being

Lord and Emperor of Sitra Achra

Giver of the sacred fire

I evoke you into my temple space.

Hear my plea as I seek to understanding your gnosis and fire

 En Nomine Draconis

 Ave Lucifer

 Vovin, Vovin, Vovin

Anoint the sigil and the mirror with your blood. Stare at the sigil for a time and try to memorize how it looks. Then look at the black mirror and see it in the mirror on fire. Close your eyes and see it rising out of the ground in flames in gold and silver. As it rises see it morph and splits in two and opens. Say again En Nomine Draconis, Ave Lucifer. Vovin, Vovin, Vovin. Stare into the mirror again and see any images come. Lucifer will know why you have petitioned him/her. So be ready to state the intention you have called. I have found closing your eyes looking at the mirror and using your inner sight can help. The mirror becomes a portal. Let the experience unfold. Write down your experiences. If you do not have luck contacting him. Repeat the ritual the next night.

Day Five: Invocation of The Fire

This ritual will require the sigil and three candles. One white, one red, and one black candle to represent the masculine, feminine, and androgynous. Take a ritual bath before this working.

Invocation Ritual

Light the candles and anoint the sigil with your blood. Speak the invocation:

Ho Ophis, Ho Archaios

Ho Dracon, Ho Megas

On this hour, in this time outside of time

In this place that is not a place

I call to thee, Luminescent Emperor of the Nightside

Lord of Light and darkness

He who rules from his throne in Thaumiel

Lord of Serpents

Ancient Torch Bearer and Bringer of Light

I welcome thee into my temple of flesh

Initiator of the Ascending Flame

Guide me on the path of your gnosis

I welcome thee in my mind, spirit, and body

I Invoke you Lucifer who rises from the depths and descends from the heights to my being

Awaken your fire within me

So that I might honor your gnosis of knowledge and power

To carry its flames as an ambassador of your wisdom

En Nomine Draconis

Lay down or sit with your eyes closed. Allow the experience to unfold. The transmission can be simply Lucifer touching your forehead to breathing fire into you. Take as much time needed.

 Temple Meditation:

Sit in a comfortable position and go into your temple. Close your eyes. You see a door in front of you a black door with a silver handle. When you are ready open the door and step in. Go down the steps into the temple prepared for Lucifers fire. You should see in the fire ring golden flames blazing. Next to it are cords of wood. Place a few in the fire. (Pause) This solidifies the work. If Lucifer is in the temple see if he/she has anything to say to you further. Once complete open your eyes.

Give thanks or anything you wish to say to Lucifer before closing the ritual.

Maintenance:

In closing, this working in caring for the fire of Lucifer, it connects you to his/her current. To keep the fire blazing and connection strong, return to your inner temple to add wood to the fire. You can also do a nightly invocation of his/her fire. The one I have adapted is: “To the skies of the east, to the lands of the east to sacred fires of Lucifer. The fires of knowledge and the ascending flame. In your name, I invoke your flame.” I then complete the Qliphoth Breath three times. The Qliphoth breath is using visualization while breathing in your seeing your breath breathing out at the same time. When I breath in I see ash leave my nostrils. When I breath out, I see golden flames go into my nostrils. It will take some practice but effective for this working.

Write down your experience and say. "It is done."  Leave the candles burning as vigil.
